To manage the Technical function; develop Technical strategies with an emphasis on maximizing growth, revenue and profitability, monitoring plant performance against delivery timeline objectives and targets, maintaining positive internal and external customer relations in order to promote and facilitate a smooth functioning of client’s equipments, facilities, whilst remaining abreast with context of the overall Operational strategy.

Function Strategy Formulation
 As a senior member of the Operational team, contributes to the formulation and implementation of the Technical strategy and plans as appropriate to the function / business line needs and objectives.
Department Management
 Manage the day-to-day operations of the Technical department; providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes in order to achieve high performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment.
 Exercise financial authority within established limits and controls departmental budget expenditure.
 Liaise and coordinate with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to support and ensure execution and smooth flow of the company’s business.
 Manage, liaise and bridge activities in relation to the Technical and Engineering functions so as to ensure a prompt completion of projects as per the stipulated timelines and budgets.
Technical Procurement Process Management
 Manage the procurement of various technical services for the operations team as required for troubleshooting, design development and eventually improvement of overall asset utilisation .
 Manage the procurement of Technical resources whilst adhering to client’s policies to ensure an uninterrupted delivery of services in a cost effective manner.
 Manage the search, initiation and short listing process of Technical service providers from in order to gain an in-depth understanding of their respective delivery capabilities.
Process and Reliability Engineering Management
 Manage the development, implementation and reporting of plant wide key performance indicators (process or equipment related) to drive sustainable operation as well as continuous improvement.
 Manage the troubleshooting of ad-hoc process and equipment related problems in order to ensure production levels are maintained.
 Manage the plant optimisation and improvement from a unit operation, equipment and technology perspective.
 Manage the concept (feasibility) development of the technical process and reliability related plant changes in order to ensure a continuous business growth.
 Manage the provision of the support to the Business Development and Strategy department with regard to pre-feasibility assessments to ensure proposals are based on appropriate assumptions and factual plant data.
 Manage the provision of the support to the Engineering department during the project execution phase with regard deliverable reviews and formal review meetings, to ensure proposals are based on factual plant data and in line with end user requirements from an operability and maintainability perspective.
 Attest, audit and monitor the execution of work by technical services contractors with regard to schedule, cost, quality and efficiency.

Minimum Qualification:
 BSc In Engineering is a must
 BSc in Chemical Engineering is preferred, yet other engineering degrees with relevant experience are also acceptable..
 MBA is a plus.

Minimum Experience:
 10 - 15 years in total experience related to technical support functions within a reputed plant within the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector. Experience should include working with or responsible for sections like process engineering, reliability engineering, process control engineering, laboratory, project support and control etc.
